Life is very hectic. Home, family, the significant other, work, you, everything is in a delicate balance between “I got this,” and “what the heck just happened?” Why not let modern technology help? There’s an app out there for just about everything you need – and about a billion for stuff you don’t.

Here’s a list of ten apps that will make your life just a bit more organized and easy, broken down from the time you wake up until your head hits the pillow.

Sworkit

Morning, Sunshine! You’re up and at ’em, but you don’t have time – or child care – to run to the gym, so whip out your smartphone and fire up your Sworkit app. Great video workouts to do at home are tailored to your level of fitness and available time and Sworkit provides a comprehensive fitness plan/goals approach that’s fast and easy-to-use. (Annual subscription fee)

Stylebook

Help! I’ve got a closet full of nothing to wear! If you have loads of clothing items, yet can’t find an outfit you want to wear, Stylebook to the rescue! This app is a wardrobe tracker and outfit coordinator all in one, and it virtually (see what I just did there?) makes your morning closet drama disappear. Sure, loading all your wardrobe pieces might be time-consuming initially, but once that’s done, the time it will save you each morning makes the effort pay off! Added bonus? It has a feature that helps you determine what to pack for business trips or vacations!

To Do

Your office is now open for business. What’s on your to-do list today? To Do will tell you! In fact, this app is the best in the business for making any kind of list your brain wants to record, whether it’s work projects, vacation planning or a simple grocery list to share with your partner. All the compulsive list-makers keep this helpful and time-saving app at the top of their home screen

Lyft

Meetings across town? No problem. Lyft is the simple way to get you where you need to go, without worry. They take safety super seriously, have a great reputation and offer the option to round up your fare as a donation to charity. You can request an immediate ride, or schedule one up to seven days in advance, eliminating the worry that you’ll be stuck waiting to get to an important event. *Why Lyft, which isn’t coming to Canada until later this year, and not Uber, that’s already here and a pretty reliable staple? Because, until Uber gets its act together, it’s hard to recommend a misogynistic organization to any working woman. It just wouldn’t feel right.

Yelp

Lunchtime! No time to bring food from home? No problem. The old standard Yelp is still the best way to find good eats close to where you are, but also can help provide ratings for other services like spas, dentists, or home repair companies.

Mint

Money matters. Having trouble keeping track of your finances? Let Mint takes care of it for you. The app is compatible with most major Canadian bank sites and has the same high standard of online security. The app will track your expenses and pay scheduled bills on your behalf, while also monitoring your investments and providing custom tips to improve your financial situation.

Keepy

The kids have something for you! The average kid brings home three pieces of artwork from school each week. If you kept every one of their “masterpieces” you’d soon have no room left in your house for furniture! Yet parents often feel guilty for sneaking those lovingly-made crafts, paintings and drawings into the recycle bin. The solution? Keepy. It’s your electronic scrapbook that the whole family can enjoy whenever they want and also participate in keeping up-to-date.

Grocery Gateway

DINNER! Oh dear – did you forget to stop by the grocery store and grab some fresh vegetables or just didn’t have time in your busy schedule? More and more, Grocery Gateway is becoming the go-to app for grocery shopping and delivery. Who doesn’t love grocery shopping in their pyjamas with a glass of wine in hand?

Texture

Time to unwind. Texture gives you access to all the publications you need to stay informed or simply entertained. Your free time is limited and sometimes you have to grab a few minutes here and there, which makes this app a great mini-escape not only in the evening but also on transit commutes or waiting for an appointment.

Calm

Ahh, bedtime. It’s finally time to sleep and refresh your body and spirit, but you can’t seem to stop the swirling thoughts in your head. Calm wants to give you just that. With guided breathing exercises or meditation, soothing photos or calming sounds, this app is designed to help kick your anxieties out of your headspace.

So you can start all over again tomorrow.
